Bespoke joinery in East Riding of Yorkshire

We survey, build and fit made-to-measure timber joinery throughout East Riding of Yorkshire — a county of brick-and-pantile village housing with a large stock of interwar suburban homes.

What we make for East Riding of Yorkshire homes

East Riding of Yorkshire is a county of brick-and-pantile village housing with a large stock of interwar suburban homes, and that is the reason we survey before quoting rather than after: a wardrobe drawn to a catalogue size will not sit flush against a wall that leans, and a kitchen run set out from a plan rather than a measurement will run out of millimetres by the last cabinet. Every job we take on in East Riding of Yorkshire starts with a laser survey of the actual opening, a set of setting-out drawings you sign off, and a fixed written price that does not move once the timber is ordered.

Straight answers

Joinery in East Riding of Yorkshire — common questions

How long does a bespoke job take from order to fitting?

Most fitted furniture runs four to eight weeks from approved drawings to fitting day. Kitchens, staircases and timber windows are longer at eight to fourteen weeks because the components are larger and the finishing schedule is longer. We give you a date band at quotation and confirm the fitting week once the drawings are signed off.

Do you charge for the survey and drawings?

The measured survey and the quotation are free. If you want fully detailed manufacturing drawings or a 3D visual before committing, that is chargeable and the fee comes off the job if you proceed.

Is bespoke joinery more expensive than a fitted furniture chain?

On a like-for-like specification it is usually comparable, and often less. Chains price a standard carcass and then charge for every deviation. A bespoke maker prices the actual room once. Where bespoke does cost more is in the materials — solid hardwood and sprayed finishes cost more than foil-wrapped board, and they last a great deal longer.

Can you match existing joinery in the house?

Yes. We take a profile of the existing skirting, architrave or door and either match it from stock cutters or have a cutter ground so the new work runs identically. Matching an old paint colour is straightforward; matching aged oak takes a sample panel and a couple of attempts, which we build into the programme.

Do I need to empty the room before you fit?

Clear the working wall and anything fragile. We bring dust sheets and a vacuum-extracted saw, but fitting makes dust and we would rather your furniture was out of the way. For kitchens we will agree a sequence with you so you keep a sink and a kettle for as long as possible.
