Edinburgh is a county of Georgian New Town flats and Victorian tenements with tall ceilings and deep reveals. That is exactly the kind of building stock a bespoke kitchen has to be drawn around, so we allow for it at survey stage rather than on fitting day — walls get checked for wind and plumb, floors for level, and the setting-out is taken from the worst reading, not the best.
How we approach it
Every bespoke kitchen we make starts with a site survey and a set of setting-out drawings, not a catalogue page. We measure the opening in Edinburgh, check the walls for wind and the floor for fall, then cut a carcass that fits the room you actually have.
How we build it
Carcass work is birch ply or MR MDF depending on span and load. Face frames and doors are solid hardwood. Everything is machined on the same setting so stiles, rails and reveals line through, and shadow gaps stay parallel from one end of the run to the other.
Finish and materials
You can have it primed for your own decorator, sprayed in any RAL or heritage colour, or left in oiled timber. Oiled finishes can be refreshed at home; sprayed finishes are harder wearing and are what we recommend for kitchens and anything at knee height.

Which worktop material do you recommend?
Quartz for durability and no maintenance. Granite if you want natural stone that will take heat. Solid timber for warmth, accepting it needs oiling and will mark. We fit all three and template through a stone specialist.
What timber do you use for painted kitchens?
Tulipwood for the frames and doors, MR MDF for panels. Tulipwood machines to a very crisp edge and does not telegraph grain through paint the way oak does.
Is a bespoke kitchen worth it over a good German range?
A German range gives you excellent engineering in standard modules. Bespoke gives you a kitchen with no filler panels, in the exact colour, using the full height and the awkward corners. In a period house with uneven walls, bespoke is usually the better value; in a square new-build, less so.
What is the difference between in-frame and frameless?
In-frame doors sit inside a solid timber face frame, which is the traditional cabinetmaker's method — it looks better, is more forgiving in an old house, and costs more. Frameless (or full overlay) doors sit over the carcass edge and give a cleaner, more contemporary line for less.
What guarantee do you give?
Ten years on workmanship. Hardware carries the manufacturer's warranty, which on good runners and hinges is usually lifetime. Finishes are guaranteed for five years against flaking or delamination in normal domestic use.
