How we build it
Timber is chosen for the room it is going into. Painted work is built in tulipwood and moisture-resistant MDF because they hold a crisp arris and take a sprayed finish without grain rise. Where the grain is meant to be seen we use European oak, walnut or ash, with veneers laid so the figure runs continuously across a set of doors.
Finish and materials
Finishing happens in the workshop wherever possible. Sprayed paint gives an even film that brushwork cannot match, and the only work left on site is the final touch-in around scribes and fixings.

How long does a bar take?
Six to nine weeks. The critical path is usually the equipment and services layout rather than the joinery, so the earlier that is fixed, the better.
Do you work around a trading business?
Where possible. Most of the work happens in the workshop, and we can phase the fit so the bar is serving each evening, though there is usually one day that needs a closure.
Which timber?
Iroko or oak. Both take a beating and can be sanded back and refinished in situ rather than replaced, which matters when you cannot close for a week.
Do you charge for the survey and drawings?
The measured survey and the quotation are free. If you want fully detailed manufacturing drawings or a 3D visual before committing, that is chargeable and the fee comes off the job if you proceed.
