Edinburgh is a county of Georgian New Town flats and Victorian tenements with tall ceilings and deep reveals. That is exactly the kind of building stock a set of internal doors has to be drawn around, so we allow for it at survey stage rather than on fitting day — walls get checked for wind and plumb, floors for level, and the setting-out is taken from the worst reading, not the best.
How we approach it
Walls in Edinburgh are rarely square and floors are rarely level. A set of internal doors that is built in a workshop to a nominal size will show every millimetre of that. We survey first, scribe on site, and finish so the joint line disappears.
How we build it
Carcass work is birch ply or MR MDF depending on span and load. Face frames and doors are solid hardwood. Everything is machined on the same setting so stiles, rails and reveals line through, and shadow gaps stay parallel from one end of the run to the other.
Finish and materials
You can have it primed for your own decorator, sprayed in any RAL or heritage colour, or left in oiled timber. Oiled finishes can be refreshed at home; sprayed finishes are harder wearing and are what we recommend for kitchens and anything at knee height.

Do you fit the ironmongery?
We can supply and fit, or hang the door and leave the ironmongery to you. If we are supplying, we prefer to machine the mortices in the workshop for a cleaner result.
Can pocket doors be made bespoke?
Yes, though the cassette has to go into the wall before plastering, so it needs planning with the builder. A pocket door saves a metre of swing space and is transformative in a tight en-suite or utility.
Can you match the doors we already have?
Yes. We take the panel layout, stile and rail widths, and moulding profile from an existing door and reproduce it. Matching four-panel Victorian doors is one of our commonest jobs.
What about fire doors?
We supply FD30 doorsets where regulations require them — in a loft conversion, a three-storey house or a flat entrance. They come with certified intumescent seals and the correct ironmongery, and the certification only holds if the whole set is fitted as supplied.
How long does a bespoke job take from order to fitting?
Most fitted furniture runs four to eight weeks from approved drawings to fitting day. Kitchens, staircases and timber windows are longer at eight to fourteen weeks because the components are larger and the finishing schedule is longer. We give you a date band at quotation and confirm the fitting week once the drawings are signed off.
