Finish and materials
Every finished job gets a short handover: what the surface is, how to clean it, and how to adjust a hinge if a door drops after the heating has been on for a season. Adjustment is normal in timber and takes about two minutes once you know which screw to turn.

How do you deal with the noise?
Mass and isolation. A closed carcass around the appliances with an 18mm back, plus anti-vibration feet, makes a noticeable difference. Do not seal it completely — a condenser dryer needs air.
Do I need a separate sink?
It is the most-missed item in a utility. A deep single bowl for handwashing, mop buckets and muddy kit is worth losing a base unit for.
Can a utility double as a boot room?
Very commonly, yes. Add a bench, hooks and open shoe storage at one end and it does both jobs. Keep the wet trades — sink, machines — at the other end.
Can a washing machine and dryer be stacked?
Yes, with a proper stacking kit rather than one simply sitting on the other. Stacking frees a full 600mm bay, and we build the housing with a pull-out shelf between them for folding.
Is bespoke joinery more expensive than a fitted furniture chain?
On a like-for-like specification it is usually comparable, and often less. Chains price a standard carcass and then charge for every deviation. A bespoke maker prices the actual room once. Where bespoke does cost more is in the materials — solid hardwood and sprayed finishes cost more than foil-wrapped board, and they last a great deal longer.
