Hampshire is a county of Georgian naval-town housing, thatched village cottages and extensive modern estates. That is exactly the kind of building stock a utility room has to be drawn around, so we allow for it at survey stage rather than on fitting day — walls get checked for wind and plumb, floors for level, and the setting-out is taken from the worst reading, not the best.
How we approach it
A utility room is a permanent part of the building, so it is worth setting out properly. We take the survey, agree the drawings, machine the parts in the workshop and fit in Hampshire in one visit wherever the programme allows.
How we build it
Hardware is specified to the weight it is carrying, not to a price point. Soft-close runners are rated for the drawer load, hinges are adjustable in three planes, and sliding gear is sized so a full-height door still moves with one finger a decade later.
Finish and materials
Finishing happens in the workshop wherever possible. Sprayed paint gives an even film that brushwork cannot match, and the only work left on site is the final touch-in around scribes and fixings.

Straight answers
Utility Rooms in Hampshire — common questions
Can a utility double as a boot room?
Very commonly, yes. Add a bench, hooks and open shoe storage at one end and it does both jobs. Keep the wet trades — sink, machines — at the other end.
Can a washing machine and dryer be stacked?
Yes, with a proper stacking kit rather than one simply sitting on the other. Stacking frees a full 600mm bay, and we build the housing with a pull-out shelf between them for folding.
How do you deal with the noise?
Mass and isolation. A closed carcass around the appliances with an 18mm back, plus anti-vibration feet, makes a noticeable difference. Do not seal it completely — a condenser dryer needs air.
Do I need a separate sink?
It is the most-missed item in a utility. A deep single bowl for handwashing, mop buckets and muddy kit is worth losing a base unit for.
Do you charge for the survey and drawings?
The measured survey and the quotation are free. If you want fully detailed manufacturing drawings or a 3D visual before committing, that is chargeable and the fee comes off the job if you proceed.
