Worcestershire is a county of black-and-white timber framing, Georgian riverside houses and new-build market towns. That is exactly the kind of building stock a set of mouldings has to be drawn around, so we allow for it at survey stage rather than on fitting day — walls get checked for wind and plumb, floors for level, and the setting-out is taken from the worst reading, not the best.
How we approach it
The difference between a fitted job and a fitted-looking job is the setting out. For skirting, architrave & mouldings in Worcestershire we rod the job first, so what arrives on site already accounts for the bows, the skirting and the ceiling line.
How we build it
Hardware is specified to the weight it is carrying, not to a price point. Soft-close runners are rated for the drawer load, hinges are adjustable in three planes, and sliding gear is sized so a full-height door still moves with one finger a decade later.
Finish and materials
Every finished job gets a short handover: what the surface is, how to clean it, and how to adjust a hinge if a door drops after the heating has been on for a season. Adjustment is normal in timber and takes about two minutes once you know which screw to turn.

Straight answers
Skirting, Architrave & Mouldings in Worcestershire — common questions
How do you deal with uneven walls?
Scribe the back of the board to the wall rather than filling the front. Filler along a top edge cracks within a heating season; a scribed board does not.
What is the right architrave to skirting relationship?
Architrave is normally a little narrower than the skirting is tall, and the skirting dies into a plinth block at the base of the architrave in a traditional setting. It solves the awkward junction where a deep skirting meets a shallower architrave.
Can you match a Victorian skirting profile?
Yes. We take a profile gauge from a clean section, have a cutter ground if it is not in our stock range, and run it in whatever length you need. Ogee, torus and lambs tongue are all held as standard.
MDF or timber?
Primed MR MDF for painted skirting and architrave — it is straighter, cheaper and takes paint better. Solid timber only where it will be stained or where the profile is deep enough to need the strength.
Do you charge for the survey and drawings?
The measured survey and the quotation are free. If you want fully detailed manufacturing drawings or a 3D visual before committing, that is chargeable and the fee comes off the job if you proceed.
